This Wisconsin family adopts terminally ill children
For the past 13 years, the Salcherts have adopted 5 children who have terminal prognoses and complex medical needs. They hope to give the children love and a comforting home. Most of the children were adopted from the foster care system. Children in foster care often have worse medical health than children in the general population. And there are hundreds of kids in foster care with terminal illnesses, according to research published in the National Library of Medicine. They have 8 biological children who are also helping and pitching in. I want to wish the Salchert family a Merry Christmas and a great New Year. They make a difference and give us all hope with their example of caring for each other. #wisconsin #salchertfamily #terminallyillchildren #empathyandcaring
