USDA inspector general escorted out of office after defying Trump order | Trump administration | The Guardian Phyllis Fong returned to her office on Monday January 27, 2024, after being fired by President Trump. She had over 22 years of Federal experience and was fired along with 16 other federal inspector generals. She did not believe the administration had followed the proper steps for the firings and dared to stand up.
